This was the spirit of AISAM 2026, an event dedicated to the microalgae sector that brought together researchers, technology providers and industry professionals to discuss the latest developments and future opportunities.

As a company with extensive experience in vibrating sieving technologies for microalgae applications, MLT Cuccolini was proud to take part in the conference by sharing its expertise in spirulina harvesting and process optimization.

During the presentation, our General Manager, Katia Motta, illustrated the results of comparative tests performed on dedicated vibrating sieving solutions, showing how purpose-designed screening technology can help producers improve harvesting efficiency, preserve product quality and ensure reliable, continuous production. The discussion focused not only on the equipment itself, but on the importance of selecting a screening system specifically engineered for this delicate stage of the process.

Another key topic was maintenance. Achieving consistent performance is not simply a matter of installing the right machine; it also requires proper inspection and preventive maintenance to preserve efficiency over time, minimise downtime and maximise operational reliability. This long-term approach is essential for maintaining stable production and protecting the value of the investment.

The conference also included a technical visit to the Polo delle Microalghe, providing an opportunity to observe how research activities are translated into practical industrial applications. Meeting directly with researchers and visiting the facilities reinforced the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in driving technological progress.
