Since 2015, Cuccolini srl has been developing advanced screening solutions for the classification of metal powders used in additive manufacturing and other high-performance industrial applications. Its patented X-Line multifrequency sieving technology has been adopted by manufacturers worldwide thanks to its efficiency in the separation of fine metal powders.

Building on this experience, since 2023 Cuccolini srl has expanded its offering with complete screening systems designed to operate in an inert atmosphere. These solutions combine advanced screening technology with integrated process management to improve safety, protect operators, and enhance the efficiency of metal powder and reactive powder classification.
A key element of the system is the vibrating feeder, designed to receive material directly from batch bins and transfer it to the sieve at a controlled and continuous rate. By preventing uncontrolled product inflow, the feeder helps protect the screening mesh, ensuring stable operating conditions throughout the process. The system is supported by a custom-engineered structure developed to meet specific installation requirements.
To ensure safe operation, the entire product path is maintained under a controlled inert atmosphere. An integrated oxygen sensor continuously monitors oxygen concentration, triggering an alarm whenever the inert gas level falls below the required threshold. This provides an additional layer of protection when processing metal powders and other reactive materials.
MLT Cuccolini also supplies a range of powder handling accessories, including mirror-polished containers available in different capacities and equipped with manual or automatic valves to manage inertization according to specific process requirements.
All system functions are managed through a PLC control panel, which can also integrate MLT Cuccolini’s preventive maintenance software to simplify monitoring, optimize maintenance planning, and maximize equipment reliability over time.
Today, the most common applications include the classification of metal powders in inert environments and the screening of reactive powders. Furthermore, existing systems can be upgraded with these additional features, allowing customers to enhance their installations without replacing existing equipment. Although primarily developed for metal and reactive powder applications, our inert atmosphere systems can be engineered to meet similar process requirements in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, adapting the same design principles to applications where product integrity and controlled processing conditions are critical.
